El Rodeo II in Galt

My favorite casual Mexican dining restaurant in Galt. Good food. Generous portions. Pleasant staff. Clean dining area.

My Honey keeps making me come back here to get her chile rellano fix, but the two different styles of tacos, and the cheese enchilada I've ordered were nothing to come back for. The Burrito Mexico w/ pastor pork was the best thing I've tried myself, but just okay. The tortilla chips are the thickest, coarsest, and hardest I've ever been served, requiring a beverage at the ready to wash them down to prevent gagging."Jorge's Tacos", at $4, turned out to be misadvertised on the menu. It is actually a single taco, made from doubled up warm soft corn tortillas, a sprinkle of melted shredded cheese, a tablespoon of your choice of meat, and some whole pinto beans. I don't know what justifies the $4 per taco price... the "artistry" maybe??... but I didn't really detect much of that either.Factor in that on our most recent visit it took at least 30 minutes for our food to make it out of the kitchen, and my Honey may have to come alone for her fix from now on.

The experience as a whole is what ruined it for me. Presentation was very messy, the staff didn't respect my order & the food was way overpriced .. $8 for a side of guacamole, not I sir!

We love this place... great food and service.

Food is excellent, but customer service is lacking and it seems a little greed has taken over. There is a large sign at the front of the restaurant letting customers know they may only have a basket of chips and they will be charged for any additional. It never used to be that way and it's pretty standard to recieve refills at most sit down restaurants if you need them. I love their salsa and often order it to go for football games. Today when I went in the lady that helped me acted as though she was extremely annoyed I wanted to order salsa to go. This isnt the first time I've walked out of there with a sense they were annoyed by my order. I miss the way El Rodeo was when they opened years ago. Their competition is growing in town and neither their friendliness nor their prices sets them aside at this point.

So it finally happened...they raised prices and shrunk portions....rip el rodeo was amazeing while it lasted.....we will not be comming back.

It is Authentic Mexican Cuisine and always delicious. I’ve been there going on seven (7) years!

Positives: chicken was amazing, all produce fresh, spicing and flavor good. Negitive: chips from an tall cheap bag where stale and gross, heated ?, then the shell for the taco salad was stale and tasted like old oil. Reasonably priced, friendly people. Cute and cozy resteraunt.

I tried it again after years of staying away and it's still very disappointing. I'm surprised they're still in business and that they're using the same recipes. I ordered several dishes to try different things but I couldnt finish any one of them. Why did I try it again? Because there's really no good restaurants in Galt. Not many places are open after 9 on a Saturday. Somehow little tables pizza. Mamas yan moon and King Jr burgers weren't sounding that appealing. I gave rodeo a shot, give them a try and let others know what you thought.

My family finally gave this place a shot yesterday. We had a large order for pick up. The first thing I noticed was how clean the restaurant was. It was extremely clean. The service we received was also excellent. The woman who helped us with the order was so nice and brought our order to the car. The food itself was very good. All 5 of us liked our food. I got the chicken flautas and I'd definitely get them again. We found ourselves a great place for Mexican food. Wish I would've tried it sooner.

I can't believe I've lived in Galt for 22 years and never heard of this place! Hands down one of the best Mexican food restaurants I have ever been to. I don't really need to say anything else. Quick and prompt servers who aren't constantly checking in with you asking dumb questions like 'hows the food?'. Clean establishment. Delicious food made and served quickly and reasonably priced. Will return for sure

I constantly come grabbing some food in this place. I enjoyed the swift customer service and well cooked dishes. 5 stars.

This restaurant is obviously one of the tastiest restaurants in the area. Anytime I go there I am remarkably happy. They always keep their very high standard service and the topmost level of dishes they give. You always win with this restaurant. Highly recommended.

Authentic and delicious. Good prices

This place went downhill years ago! Use to be great now I almost never go. Some of the meals that were super good are bland now and they’re prices are way higher! I have to give respect to a couple of the waitresses that have been there a long time because they’re always so nice and give good service. They’re the only reason I haven’t completely abandoned the place!

This whole in the wall tucked away in an older strip mall in Galt is one of my favorites. My family and I have been frequenting El Rodeo for over 20 years for special occasions, weekend outings and just in the mood for great Mexican food. Excellent authentic food, fast and friendly service and their price to portion ratio is appropriate.

Absolutely excellent Mexican seafood restaurant. I have been to a lot of restaurants but they pale in comparison to this restaurant. They serve civichi and tostada shells vs chips and salsa. Delicious! My wife had a plate with shrimp and steak cooked in an amazing sauce. I would highly recommend Taqueria El Rodeo!

Okay, you need to take the sign down, best authentic Mexican good in town. Not all that authentic. Authentic tacos (crispy) don't come in premade shells. Beans and rice were kind of bland. And my enchilada sauce had no kind of spice? Authentic had a little to big spicy bite, this had none? This was our second time, yes we gave it a second chance, sorry we were not impressed.

We were traveling and Mexican food tends to have gluten free options - the smaller the place, the better. Found this place on Maps and after a hiccup of finding the correct driveway, had a nice quick lunch on the fly. They have four options of lunch specials - taco, tostada, enchilada, something else - it makes me laugh, but Hubs cares whether the rice and beans are Next to each other on the plate, so he can mix them up (ew!). We liked the mural on the wall / service was fine / priced great for lunch ~ $6 / close to the freeway. We'll go back.

We came to this spot for lunch. This spot was recommended to us by a friend. Well, we were not disappointed. The crew were very polite and we felt very good. The meal was fresh and delicious. We enjoyed every moment and we shall definitely come back again. we highly recommend this place.

Tried this place for a breakfast burrito. Service was great, real nice lady, very informative. But the price was a little expensive for the portion and the quality of food. 13 bucks for a breakfast burrito and a regular size horchata. Burrito was about have the size of a Carolina's burrito. And I think those are like 6-7 bucks. It didnt really taste that great. It wasnt bad....just not that great. Horchata lacked taste too. sweeter.
